What x16 is
x16 is a launchpad for pump.fun coins, and every coin on it is tagged to a startup a16z has funded. The list holds 860 companies, taken from a16z's public portfolio page. You pick one, name your coin, pay the launch fee, and x16 creates the coin on pump.fun, tagged to that company. x16 pairs the coins with dynamic Meteora pools.
The site has a page for every startup, a page for every coin, and a board that ranks the startups by how many coins they have and how much those coins trade.
02
Launch a coin
A launch is one form and one payment.
- 1
Pick a startup
Search the list, or start from a startup's own page. The coin is tagged to it for good. - 2
Name the coin
A name, a ticker and a picture, plus an X or Telegram link if you have one. - 3
Connect Phantom
Signing in proves the wallet is yours. It moves no money. - 4
Pay the launch fee
0.25 SOL, approved once in Phantom, plus a small Solana network fee. - 5
x16 creates the coin
x16's launch wallet creates the coin on pump.fun, and it trades from the first block. Its page on x16 opens as soon as it is confirmed.
Launch a coin when you are ready.
03
The startup tag
The tag is a label. It puts the coin on the startup's page on x16 and counts it on the board. It is set when the coin launches and never changes.
Each company's name, description, logo and facts come from a16z's public portfolio page, a16z.com/portfolio, and belong to their owners. When a16z stops listing a company, its page stays for the coins already tagged to it, and new coins can no longer pick it.
A tag is not a share, not equity and not a claim on the company, and a tagged coin is not made or endorsed by that company or by a16z.
04
Meteora pools
Next to its pump.fun market, x16 pairs the coins launched here with dynamic Meteora pools, so a coin can also trade on Meteora, the Solana liquidity protocol.
05
Fees
- Launch fee
- 0.25 SOL, paid once in Phantom when you launch.
- Dev buy
- As the coin is created, x16's own wallet buys 0.01 SOL of it. Your fee does not pay for that buy.
- Network fee
- Solana's own small fee on the payment.
- Trading fees
- Charged by the venue a coin trades on, pump.fun or Meteora.
- Creator fees
- x16's launch wallet creates every coin, so pump.fun pays each coin's creator fees to that wallet.
06
Trading and bonding
Every coin starts on its pump.fun bonding curve. When enough has been bought, it bonds and moves to its permanent pool, and trading carries on there. x16 marks a coin as bonded when the market data says so.
Prices, market caps and volumes on x16 come from Dexscreener, pump.fun and GeckoTerminal, read every couple of minutes. A figure nobody has reported yet shows as n/a, never as a zero.
07
The board
The board ranks every startup that has at least one coin: most coins first, then the most trading. You can also rank it by market cap, by 24 hour volume, or by the newest launch. It starts empty, and the first coin puts its startup at the top.
08
If something goes wrong
A launch moves forward one step at a time and every step is saved, so closing the tab never loses a paid launch. If the fee arrives but the coin cannot be created, the fee is kept for a refund by hand. Keep the payment reference the launch page shows you.
A draft that is never paid simply expires after 20 minutes. Nothing is charged.
09
Risks
Coins on x16 are memecoins. They can be volatile, thinly traded, or lose all of their value. Names and tickers can be copied, so check a coin's address before you trade it. Nothing on x16 is investment advice.
Read the Terms and the Privacy notice before you launch.

Words you might meet: a mint is a coin's address on Solana, a ticker is its short symbol, and bonded means it has left its bonding curve.
